Tribute to John Jessing
On May 18, 2015, Vico lost a dear employee, coworker, and friend to a sudden death. John not only was a true champion here at Vico, he was a loving husband, father, dear son, and brother to his immediate family.
While it’s been a year since John’s departure, he still touches our lives in many ways. While he is gone, he will never be forgotten. Please join us today in taking a moment to fondly remember and pay tribute to John Jessing.
GO BLUE and
rest in peace, JJ.
John always had a smile on his face, was and easy person to talk to and a great person to work with! Very light hearted, with a wonderful sense of humor! John is a person whom can never be replaced or find that could be just like him. He will always be missed in our hearts and never be forgotten in our minds.
John was a real gentleman in the old school sense. A very kind guy
John was my boss he was nice, cool and very thoughtful. He actually bought me and my assembly co-workers, Christmas gifts. I was shocked and stunned, that he will no longer be with us. God Bless his family.
I would like to offer my condolences to the family. John will definitely be missed will keep the family in prayer.
John Jessing was a wonderful man. It was a pleasure to know him, both personally and professionally. John and I worked on many projects together. His vast knowledge of the fastener business and Vico’s history made him an invaluable resource to me. I learned a lot from John.
From a more personal side, I loved hearing him talk about his family and how he kept us updated on the Jessing household. There was never a dull moment at Vico when John was around. His quick wit and sense of humor made for some really fun work days. We have some great memories of “Johnisms”. He will be dearly missed by not only me, but everyone at Vico.
John will be truly missed at Vico. I respected John greatly as a co-worker. He had a special way of handling work, keeping focused and driven while being practical and light hearted. His passion did not stop at the workplace. The way he talked about his family was admiring. He was extremely proud of his children and was a loving husband and father. Vico has lost a great salesman and the world has lost an amazing individual.
I’ve always had great respect for John, I saw him as a man who poured his heart and soul into his family and Vico. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
First and foremost, I send my condolences to John’s family. John was a generous person. He always talked about his children you can tell how proud he was of their accomplishments. Our days are going to feel really odd without John visiting our area and laughing with us. John was our boss but we always felt comfortable around him, there was never an uptight dull moments in his presence. I’m honored to have been able to meet such a kind-hearted, joyful man. He will be missed.
I could not sum up a man's life, or legacy, or impact, in a blurb, and I wouldn't want to try. However, I would contribute this:
"John was a great salesman and an even greater man. I relied heavily upon his wealth of knowledge in the fastener industry, not to mention his intimate knowledge of the long and successful history between our companies. From a professional standpoint, I will miss his expertise and honesty, as well as his ability to understand both the immediate and the underlying needs of his customer. From a personal standpoint, I will miss his sense of humor, genial nature, and smiling face. We would have never met had it not been for the business relationship, but we forged a true friendship out of it, and that is a testament to John and the way he interacted with people. He will be sorely missed. I will never watch another UM football game without thinking about him."
Eric Fraley, Akebono
We have lost a great human being, an excellent co-worker and awesome friend, we shared good moments that will prevail in our minds forever and I always will remember him. I was a witness also of a great man that loved and enjoyed his family to the fullest, something that is beyond the standards and beyond the average people, the way he talked about his wife, and sons is not what you hear every day, is something that I would like to become someday! I don’t have nothing to share rather than good stuff about him, not just for the way he was, also for the way he thought and worked. We’ll miss you John, but we won’t forget you!
Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed and very dear.
We are sorry to hear about the sudden passing of John Jessing. We enjoyed working with him over the years. He will be missed.
Your Friends at Creative Data Inc.
I met John early in my career with Akebono and immediately started developing a friendship. John and I traveled on many trips together and had a great time. Not many of the suppliers I have dealt with would I call a friend as well as a business associate. On many occasions I called John just to say hello, when there was not a business purpose. I am still in shock with his passing and will miss him dearly.

John Jessing is a name to remember when thinking of Vico. He was so proud of the product and people at Vico. John once presented Akebono with a plaque with a set of Akebono manufactured pads and Vico manufactured slider pin bolts attached. Both products came off his Honda Accord at the 100,000 mile service check-up, both products looked like they were almost new. John's smile said it all as to how proud he was of his products field performance. The plaque was still on the QA office wall when I moved from the Elizabethtown manufacturing facility.

John Jessing was one of those few people that we meet in life who is able to establish a friendship with everyone they know. I’ve never heard anyone say a negative word about John. John could get along with anybody, and he was always a pleasure to be around and work with. We will miss his knowledge and expertise in Louisville, but his friendship most of all. May God rest his soul, and bless his family with a peace that is beyond understanding.
I was a neighbor of John Jessing’s for 7 years and we moved away from Ohio last year. I read the tribute your company posted on John and needed to reach out to you to let you know how it impacted my wife and me. The pictures were great and the kind words shared by all were simply moving.
We share your sorrow for the sudden loss of John. I'm the same age as him and have 2 kids....just can't imagine what the Jessing family is going through. He and I would occasionally share stories about work and his were always told in a way that I knew he cared deeply for his co-workers.
You guys did a good thing in the tribute and it brought smiles to many faces...
